Ruble

The rubles and Russian markets kept their breath on Wednesday as they waited for the results of President Vladimir Putin’s meeting with US envoy Steve Whitkov.

The ruble was flat at about 80 to the dollar, according to the data collected by LSEG based on a non -prescription quotation.

It was put 0.2 % against Yuan China on the Moscow Stock Exchange. The main stock market index in Russia decreased by 0.15 %.

Many analysts believe that the ruble is exaggerated and the trigger is waiting for weakness.

The Russian currency increased by up to 45 % against the dollar earlier this year, in part due to the expectations of ice melting in the relationship between Russia and the United States, as well as the hopes of a peaceful settlement in Ukraine.

Carmelin said earlier that Russia has developed immunity to sanctions thanks to long experience. However, the last round of US sanctions against the Russian bank, which dealt with the energy payments, which were imposed last year, led to the ruble segment.
