A truck collided with a bus in southern Bolivia, killing at least 31 people, according to police – only two days after a murderous accident made at least 37 lives.
The police said that the bus had rolled around 500 meters (1,640 feet) in a ravine after the collision on Monday, which took place on the highway between Oruro, in the Bolivian Altiplano, and the Potosi Highlands mining city.
The driver of the truck was arrested, while the cause of the accident is the subject of an investigation.
Police spokesman Limbert Choque, said men and women were one of the dead and that 22 people were injured.
The president of Bolivia, Luis Arce, expressed his condolences for the victims on social networks: “This unfortunate event must be studied to establish responsibilities,” he said in an article on Facebook.
“We send our most sincere condolences to the bereaved families, wishing them the force necessary to cope with these difficult times.”
