Solong captain – The container carrier involved in the Northern Sea accident – is a Russian national, said the owner of the ship.

The Immaculate STENA transported 220,000 jet fuel barrels in 16 separate loading tanks – of which at least one “was broken” during the collision, said Crowley, the maritime company managing the STENA Immaculate.

The coast guard saved 36 people, the ambulances lining up in a nearby port while the emergency services were preparing their response.

The 23 people aboard the Stena Immaculate oil tanker were recorded, but one of the 14 crew members of the Solong is still missing.

A search for them was canceled on Monday evening.

Solong stranded security controls

It also appeared that the Solong failed the security controls linked to management last year.

The inspection documents for port control (PSC) from July from last year show how managers warned that “reading the reading of the emergency position of the Cargo emergency” was “not readable”.

He was one of the 10 numbers highlighted during an inspection of the Portuguese flag ship.

Other problems understood that alarms were “inadequate”, the survival profession that was not properly maintained and the fire doors “not if necessary”.

Another inspection in October 2024 revealed two problems with the Solong.

One of them was linked to life buildings, warning that they were “not properly marked”.

None of the problems was serious enough to prevent the Solong from navigating.
