Will Russia accept a ceasefire? Difficult to say.
Because throughout the weeks and months, Moscow has always said that he did not want a temporary truce.
Instead, he is called a long -term peace agreement which addresses what he considers as the “deep causes” of the conflict.
In the mind of Moscow, the “deep causes” mean Western aggression and NATO Historical expansion to the east.
By making this a coherent criterion for peace, Russia has tried to ensure that its own security problems are satisfied in the event of a final signature.
I think it is also a way to legitimize its large -scale invasion, which, according to Russia, was made to protect Russian speakers in eastern Ukraine due to the maintenance of the Minsk agreements.

The Minsk agreements were cease-fire agreements signed between kyiv and the separatists supported by Russia in the Donbas in 2014 and 2015. Moscow’s reasoning is that kyiv cannot trust to stick to a truce.
But this is largely postponed by the Kremlin, to strengthen his own story around the conflict – that it is the victim, fighting a defensive war.
A more convincing reason for the reason why Russia promotes a permanent agreement on a temporary agreement is that the Ukrainian forces are on the back.
A break in the fighting would give them time to regroup, so why would Moscow agree?
He wants Kyiv to beg mercy with regard to the negotiating table, so that a permanent agreement is entirely in favor of Russia.
The problem for Vladimir PutinHowever, it is that he must now put his money where his mouth is.
In order to win Donald Trump Favor, the Kremlin was relentless by trying to get started as a peacemaker and Ukraine as heat.
This worked to this point, with America more and more to store with Russia. But now, all of a sudden, kyiv calls the Moscow bluff.

It looks like progress and it looks like progress. How many real progress is for Russians.
Moscow will decide if this step forward is a stone’s throw back.
The Americans and the Ukrainians made the easy song in Saudi Arabia. It was a diplomatic healing between the two parties, a reset on relations which restores a military alliance.
Obviously, Ukraine will host the United States Raising his break on the sharing of intelligence and weapons supply.
It will strengthen the links between Washington and Kyiv, even if confidence remains undermined.
There are deep suspicions in kyiv surrounding the motivations of President Trump and his relationship with Mr. Putin.
Ukrainian President Zelenskyy called the cease-fire proposal a positive step-he is satisfied with the way he goes, even if he will have questions in the context.
Ukraine was second behind Russia on the guest list for interviews with the Americans and, although Mr. Trump courted Mr. Putin, he is cold Mr. Zelenskyy.
The discussions between Mr. Trump and Mr. Putin will surely have given the American president a guide on how the Russians will react to the offers made.
Would Trump have proposed a cease-fire without ensuring that Mr. Putin would accept?
Unlikely, given everything Moscow must win.
The floating future for Ukraine by the Trump administration does not include adherence to NATO, does not reflect the desire to retreat Russian territorial gains and do not exclude sanctions against Moscow.
For Ukraine, there are difficult questions about what happens after weapons are silent.
A ceasefire in the current conditions is not the starting point that Mr. Zelenskyy would have chosen, but, in a realistic way, it is the only starting point he has.

It was a long day of negotiations, but in the end, it seemed that the Ukrainian and American delegations had found common ground. When they entered the talks, they seemed concentrated – there are a lot of bearing on the talks.
When they emerged after sunset, it was clear that they had achieved something – small steps on what will be a long and difficult route to achieve all kinds of peace.
The initial agreement has seen progress on the preparation of Ukrainians to accept an immediate 30-day interim cease-fire in theory.
Although there are still many unanswered problems, there is now a movement to put an end to a war that has been posing for more than three years.
For Ukrainians, they wanted and had to repair the relationship with the United States after that now infamous diplomatic spitting in the oval office.
They were looking A restoration of military aid and intelligence sharing. The United States has now announced that it will immediately restart its help.
What the Americans wanted to see was a Ukraine who was ready to be flexible and to make difficult decisions to achieve a peace agreement.
The Ukrainians were clearly convincing on this count and the American delegation seemed convinced.
But the war cannot stop without Russian agreement and if Moscow bites and also accepts a provisional ceasefire is far from clear.
They gave mixed signals.
On the one hand, the officials said that the Kremlin war objectives remained the same and that there will be no concessions, but they also said they were waiting to hear the details of the talks.
Obviously, the ball is now at the Moscow courtyard.
Mr. Trump’s envoy Steve Witkoff goes to Moscow later in the week.
He reported that he will discuss diplomatic proposals with Mr. Putin.
But obtaining lasting and lasting peace will not be easy – it is unlikely that the leader of Russia accepts everything that does not allow him to present his “special military operation” as something other than a total victory.
And until an agreement is concluded, violence and murder will continue.
