Two Olympic gold medalist skiingists were suspended after their ski combinations were deliberately manipulated to make them more aerodynamic.
Three staff members involved in the cheating scandal – including the head coach – were also withdrawn from their work.
Marius Lindvik athletes, 26, and Johann Andre Forfang, 29, will no longer participate in a World Cup event that begins in Oslo this Thursday.
The couple had denied participation since the allegations emerged during the weekend – but were suspended on Wednesday pending an investigation by the International Federation of Ski and Snowboard (FIS).
Initially, the two athletes were supported by the Norwegian team – until their head coach, Magnus Brevig, and the director of equipment Adrian Livelten, confessed.
It appeared that team managers have manipulated pre-approved combinations and microchips to increase their size and improve aerodynamics to help athletes fly further.
It was revealed in images filmed secretly behind a curtain and then sent by a denunciator to international media.
An official of the FIS said that illegal changes had only been confirmed by tearing the crotch stitching on ski ski combinations.
The FIS has seized all the costumes worn by the Norway teams at the world championships.
Head coach, Mr. Brevig, told local media that he had “consented to the suspension” and said he was “terribly sorry for what we did”.
“We have manipulated or modified the combinations in a way that violates the regulations-Ergo, cheated,” he said.
The athletes had already been disqualified from the big hill event on Saturday – a few days after Mr. Lindvik became world champion, winning money.
Norway, where the cheating scandal has emerged, still marks a high score in the anti-corruption index of Transparency International and tied in fifth in the last world ranking.

Stine Korsen, president of the ski jumping committee, said that Norway would host a FIS investigation into cheating.
He said: “We take this question very seriously and recognize that the equipment has been deliberately manipulated in violation of FIS regulations in order to obtain an advantage in the competition.”
